A Testimonial of how Prayer and Sacred Emanations Saved Lives and My House

or

How Faith is Infused into Life

On November 23, 2003 my faith was tested in a most dramatic way. If Rev. Reinaldo Torres had not taught me those many Sacred Emanations and how and when to use them, I do not know how things might have turned out. My spiritual training included a lot of chanting. Reinaldo could Emanate a hundred different Sacred Emanations, a precise number of times each without counting or referring to notes. They were so much a part of his teachings and ministry. I do not remember all the chants, I have to look at my class notes, or listen to his recordings. But I remember a few that are simply perfect for certain situations, and I got to experience just how powerful and protective one of them is. This is a testimonial of how that Sacred Chant protected me and my family:

The flames roared seventy feet into the air. I viewed the scene as if on a movie screen. The image seemed detached and removed a distance from me. I saw hands reaching up to the sky before me. They were shaking violently. They stretched up towards the flames, fingers splayed wide as if to catch or cover the fire.

They were my hands. I was shaking. GOD, SAVE MY HOUSE!!! PROTECT MY ANIMALS. I CLAIM DIVINE PROTECTION NOW! WRAP MY HOUSE IN DIVINE WHITE LIGHT AND PROTECT IT!! KODOISH, KODOISH, KODOISH. I chanted the Kodoishes nine times and I affirmed Divine Right Order®, standing on the patio in front of the house. Just fifty feet behind the house, the fire roared incessantly as it consumed the barn, the trees, the grass. Its hellish orange light colored my world.

I finished the chants. I invoked the protection of my angels, guides and my spiritual mentor. "Reinaldo, guide me." Then the hands came down and I came fully back into my body and the here and now. My hands, my eyes, my misery - watching my husband's livelihood go up in flames while he ran an errand. But in that instant, I KNEW the house was saved. The house was not going to burn. GOD SAVED OUR HOUSE IN THAT INSTANT. As my hands came down, my body turned around and I was looking down into the upturned face of a tiny woman. At 6' 2'', I am taller than most people and don't often think about it, but I was surprised at how far down her face was from mine.

"Do you have any animals in the house?" she yelled over the roar. In the midst of the starting fire, an inner voice had said "THE DOGS - GET THE DOGS" and I remembered that our three dogs were on their chains just yards from the flames. Bullets and propane tanks were exploding inside the barn. I was terrified I'd be hit by something. I got the puppy first and carried him through the house to his crate. I went back for my hound, Jade. Her chain was tangled around the concrete picnic table. She was barking, jumping and tugging frantically trying to escape the searing heat. I crouched trembling behind the table, praying that 8 inch wide base would protect me from fire and bullets. I could not untangle the chain and she was tugging so hard, I almost couldn't release her. I was able to loose the catch, she tore out of my grip and my son Kyle tackled her and took her in to her box. I turned and ran to our terrier mutt and grabbed her off her chain and took her to her crate. I was proud of myself for not following my first instinct and curling up in a fetal ball. I was thinking, not panicking and I'd just saved the dogs. So when the little lady asked about the dogs, it was with a scrap of self-congratulation that I replied 'Yes, they're in their crates in the family room.'

"You have to get them out." I looked down into her face, puzzled. "You can't leave them in the house."

'My house is not going up in flames!'

"You've got to get them out, the house is filling up with smoke." That made sense. Kyle and I started dragging the crates, dogs in them, out of the house. When we got to the patio, the lady and Kyle took the dogs across the street.

Again I stood on the patio hearing the flames roaring and consuming everything.

"Where's your purse? Go get it and put it in your car." There she was again, looking up at me with calm eyes. Again I told her my house was safe, but I didn't argue. I found my purse and obediently put it in the car. Then I turned to watch the flames again.

Over the din of fire engines her voice rose up to me again. "Go get your insurance papers and put them in the car, too." She turned to Kyle "Get anything else that's important to you." Kyle didn't argue with her, but he turned to me and said in a flat, matter of fact voice "The house is not going to burn." He'd been doing some praying, too. 'I know, but go do it anyway.' After all, there was not much else we could do at that point.

"The back of your house is getting very hot, make sure you've got everything important out and then stay out of the house!" Kyle unhooked the computers. I got my rolling file cabinet filled with my personal papers and writings (not bills or bank statements) and rolled it out to the patio. Kyle retrieved his guitar and amp from his bedroom. Again, the tiny lady was the calm voice of reason, and without question, we complied. As soon as Kyle and I had done her bidding, she seemingly disappeared. I never thought to ask her name, or where she lived.

I did wonder who she was. After 13 years on this street, I know most of my neighbors by sight, at least. I also wondered how she broke through the line of fire engines, ambulances, fire fighters and cops that surrounded my property. Nobody else was 'sightseeing' on my patio. Everyone else was being kept behind the engines across the street. The police were not even letting anyone who lived on our dead end street come or go in their vehicles. They also blocked the through street, so nobody was able to drive anywhere near the fire. So where did she come from? Where did she go?

Why did she suddenly appear, practically under my elbow as soon as I finished my invocation of the Kodioshes?

She was my angel. (It was probably her that reminded me I had dogs and they needed saving.) Through that hellish half hour, I know that not only was I protected, my family watched over and my house saved, I was cared for, nurtured and guided - in the flesh - in real time. For me the fire was the closest I've been to Hell, and the nearest I've been to the Divine.

Aftermath: Caused by a freak electrical fire, the twenty year old wood building literally exploded into flames. What had been a large building 16 feet tall, housing tools for our homestead, inherited furniture, and other memories, was reduced in thirty minutes to a pile of ashes a foot deep. The out building behind the barn burned clear through. The next day, I found a melted plastic flower pot where Jade had been trapped. Where Ginger the mutt had been was the most ironic thing of all. The fire extinguisher that had hung just inside the door of the barn got so hot it exploded and the 1/4 inch thick metal split open like a flower petal and propelled the tank 50 feet across the yard to land in the yard right where Ginger had been. All around the site there is a scorched ring of trees and foliage 50 to 75 feet away. The paint on the house blistered and a window cracked from the heat. It could have been worse.

It is directly because of my training as an Associate Minister with Church Of The Creator® that I had the spiritual skills to deal with that situation. I am so blessed. Gracias, Reinaldo.

I continue to teach : Ethnic food history, ecology and Sunday Nursery school. I conduct eco-tours for school children and adults. My ministry is in the world, ministering and witnessing to folks that don't go to church and some who do. I also continue officiate at sacred ceremonies : weddings, memorial services, house blessings and other ceremonies. In these dramatic and scary times, it is so important that we all continue to infuse our everyday lives with the Divine, all the time.

Blessings to all,

Dear COTC Family,

I want to thank you all for prayers for my father who recently crossed over...all the prayers helped me as I assisted him in his last pain-filled weeks and all the White Light and Angels shown around him...I asked Christ Jesus to stand by his bed until it was time...my sister saw Jesus by his side and was so happy....Prayer is so powerful and every time we pray, it makes the Light brighter...

In Love and Light Always...
