Dearest Friends and Fellow
Ministers,
This has been a most eventful year for my husband and me. After living in
Albuquerque, New Mexico for more than two years, we decided to settle
permanently in Colorado and we were able to purchase our dream home in
Westminster, one of the communities between Denver and Boulder. We still
spend some time in New Mexico as Ron, my husband, continues to work there.
However, I've relocated my Ministry and Pastoral Counseling practice to
Colorado and I work from there.
My Ministry has grown over the past year, and our Father seems to find ways
for me to be of service to others. I really don't have to try. So many
times, I can be doing something as simple as standing in line at the grocery
store and someone in need will speak to me and I
am offered another opportunity to minister to those in true need.
In addition, I do actively seek out opportunities to help those in need and
to practice my gift of healing through Reiki. For
example:
In January, I gathered clothes and household items for a family in need who
had recently adopted two children from the foster care system. Throughout
the winter and spring seasons, my husband and I continued to assist this
family with food and other needs until they could get on their feet.
Also in January, I used my skill in Reiki to assist a client who was
experiencing persistent pain that had caused her to become somewhat
depressed. With her pain in check, she was able to secure a job and start to
get her life in order.
Later in the Spring, I collected magazines for the elderly who could not
afford them. It is a project I continued throughout the rest of the year.
In June, I assisted in another client who suffered from chronic migraine
headaches. she obtained relief, but
needs additional healing treatments to see prolonged relief.
In July, I aided another client with obtaining relief from pain in his hands
due to extreme exertion and trauma. He experienced immediate relief and did
not suffer a recurrence.
Later in the summer, I collected clothing, furniture, and food for several
other families that were experiencing financial hardship. One of the
families lost their home due to foreclosure and had their furniture
destroyed by vandals.
My major project has been to perform Reiki treatments on a client suffering
from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This client has been afflicted with MS for
several years and had been doing fairly well. However, this year she
suffered some set backs and her health had started to decline. I've been
working with her since late summer and I hope to have slowed the progression
of her illness. I'll not know for awhile. She has had pain relief. These
hands-on healing treatments really drain my energy and it takes me several
days to recover my strength after each session. But, this is my calling and
I am persistent.
